Center Screens Almost 400 Kids at Cardinals Care Redbird Rookies Health Fair June 9

The Center screened 391 children this year at the Cardinals Care Redbird Rookies Annual Health Fair at UMSL this past Saturday. Had these children not received screenings, potential hearing and vision disorders may have gone unnoticed. With help from the Center, youngsters identified with a hearing or vision problem are now on the road to see, hear and learn alongside unaffected peers. A huge thanks to all volunteers and staff who helped that day.

The annual event is hosted by St. Louis Cardinals' Redbird Rookies, a Cardinals Care program. We offer free hearing and vision screenings for around 1,500 children who attend each year. We also have a speech-language pathologist on hand to answer any questions regarding speech-language disorders. The fair runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m on UMSL's campus in the Millennium Student Center. We are proud to have been a part of providing necessary health care for St. Louis area children in need!
