Center Receives Ameren Missouri Grant to Fund Speech-Language Services

The Center would like to extend a huge Thank You to Ameren Missouri for their recent grant to support speech-language therapy in the St. Louis Metro Area!

Generous corporate support enables the Center to continue to serve thousands of St. Louisans of all ages who struggle with speech-language disorders.

It’s estimated that 16 million Americans have a speech or language disorder. In children it can result in the failure to thrive academically, emotionally and socially.

Treatment offers a lifetime of improved communication and a better chance at a healthier, happier and more successful life. The Center’s Speech-Language Program conducts evaluations to identify the type and severity of a child’s problem. By setting goals for individual improvement, a child will then go through a number and specific frequency of therapy sessions depending upon the severity of the child’s disorder and his or her reaction to therapy.

Founded in 1920 in St. Louis, the Center for Hearing & Speech is a 501(c) 3, non-profit organization and a proud member of the United Way, which provides major funding.  The Center’s primary goal is to identify, treat and help St. Louisans with communications disorders by offering speech/language and audiology services to children and adults, regardless of whether they have insurance and/or financial resources to afford such care.
