Center Thanks Retiring Board Members

Frank D'Antonio
Shaun Nordgaarden

John Waterhouse
Robert Aden

The New Year brings a “changing of the guard” on the Center’s Board of Directors with the retirement of several long-standing members in December.

With great appreciation, the Center thanks Frank D’Antonio, Coventry Healthcare; John Waterhouse, Ameren Missouri; and Robert Aden, community volunteer, for their years of service and leadership on the board.

Michael Arendes, 2016 Board President, presented an award of appreciation to each for their commitment to the Center over the years. We also thank exiting board member Shaun Nordgaarden, who resigned from his position when he moved to accept a new career challenge beyond the St. Louis area.

Frank most recently served as Board President and Robert most recently served as the Board’s Treasurer.  John served as chair of the Board’s Strategic Planning Committee and helped establish the Center’s Young Friends group, while Shaun was also a key figure in the formation of the Young Friends group.

Again, thank you all, gentlemen, for your guidance, leadership and dedication to the Center and the people it helps!

Founded in 1920 in St. Louis, the Center for Hearing & Speech is a 501(c) 3, non-profit organization and a proud member of the United Way, which provides major funding.  The Center’s primary goal is to identify, treat and help St. Louisans with communications disorders by offering speech/language and audiology services to children and adults, regardless of whether they have insurance and/or financial resources to afford such care.  For additional information call 314-968-4710, visit or “like” the Center on Facebook.
