Center Thanks Dr. Kate Sinks, Celebrating 5 Years of Service as Audiologist!
The Center would like to congratulate Dr. Kate Sinks, who celebrated her five-year work anniversary in December as a Center Audiologist. Thank you for all of your hard work, Dr. Sinks!
Before she became a clinical audiologist, Dr. Sinks worked part-time for both the Audiology and Industrial Hearing Conservation departments.
Dr. Sinks supports the mission of the Center in providing services to those members of our community who have less means. Her current responsibilities include working with both pediatric and adult patients. She performs hearing diagnostics and auditory processing disorder evaluations; fits and repairs hearing aids; counsels patients on hearing loss and effective communication skills; works with assistive listening devices and assists Center support staff whenever possible.
“I enjoy the friendly and supportive work atmosphere at the Center,” she said. “It’s nice to go home and feel as though I’ve made a positive difference in a person’s or family’s life.”
In her spare time, Dr. Sinks is an avid music enthusiast. In fact, she spent 25 years performing in various vocal groups. She also loves to read and dabbles in fine art photography.
However, most of her spare time these days is spent chasing her almost three year old son.
