Give Generously to Support Fall School Screenings During Center’s Summer Appeal

Zion enjoys interacting with the Center's
speech/language pathologists to improve his speech.

School buses are rolling down the roads this week and the kids have packed up for school! But the sun high is in the sky and lawn mowers still are whirling; summer is not over yet! Our Summer Appeal is still going on and YOU have the power to help. A lot of us take for granted simple things like saying “thank you,” hearing the laughter of friends, or the sound of the ground hitting our feet as we walk thought the day. The Center for Hearing and Speech helps provide speech-language therapy and services to children at 11 partner schools through the St. Louis area. So help transform a child’s life as they start a new school year click the link below and support the Center’s Summer Appeal today!

Your help during the Center’s annual fundraising campaign ensures children, such as five-year-old Zion, will receive the therapy he needs to overcome his stuttering problem.

Zion’s condition is like that of many children across the St. Louis area afflicted with communication disorders. The Center’s speech-language pathologists provide in-school therapy for these kids at 11 different partner schools, day-care centers and Head Start programs in our communities where there is the most need. These kids come from low-income families, whose parents or guardians may not have the financial resources to pay for much-needed therapy that can correct their childrens’ problems.

Know that your donation is specifically earmarked to fund this therapy for these children as they begin the 2015/2016 school year. Look for our appeal invitation in the mail, featuring Zion and others. You can also donate online at our website, www.hearing-speechstlouis.org, to help these kids attain academic and social success.

The Center for Hearing & Speech is a 501 (c) 3  non-profit organization that donates $1.75 million in speech/language, school screening and audiology services every year to residents of metropolitan St. Louis and surrounding communities.  It is a proud member of the United Way of Greater St. Louis and the Better Business Bureau.
